RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES FAQs

HOW CAN A DEMO HELP MY SALES?

Unlike demo events with some of our competitors, a demo at Restaurant Depot offers one-on-one access specifically to foodservice operators right at the critical moment of decision to purchase. It is truly the most direct way to influence the sales of your products right as our customers are shopping.

WHO CAN DEMO AT RESTAURANT DEPOT?

We believe all vendors can benefit from demos and we encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity! For your convenience, Restaurant Depot has proudly partnered with RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES as the sole demonstration service provider and coordination team for the Midwest and West regions. The RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES company has the advantage of experience executing high-quality demonstrations in our unique warehouse environment and provides unbiased demonstration services to all of our vendors.

While we strongly encourage our vendors to take advantage of the all-inclusive RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES demonstration services, should you decide to conduct your own demos we require complete adherence to our quality, health and safety standards, for the well-being of our customers and staff. Only direct employees of the vendor or representative broker may conduct demonstrations in our stores and representatives must be able to prove direct employment via a scanned copy of a business card. Contracting with third party demonstration companies or individuals is prohibited. Vendors and brokers wishing to use their own staff to conduct demonstrations must agree to the policies and provide appropriate documentation as outlined in the Jetro/RD National Health & Safety Protocol Agreement. Additionally, the individuals conducting the demonstrations must carry—and be prepared to show during their demonstration—appropriate food handling certification.

All demonstrations for Midwest Corporate Regional stores must be scheduled via the RDDemos.com web portal. Appropriate documentation as outlined in the Health & Safety Protocol must be submitted via the portal before demos can be conducted.

WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE HOURS AND TIMES FOR DEMONSTRATIONS?

Demos may be scheduled on any day except Sunday. There are 4 potential demo time blocks available each day:

AM Block: 8AM to NOON – 1x Electric Block & 1x NonElectric Block

PM Block: 1PM to 5PM – 1x Electric Block & 1x NonElectric Block

Access to electricity in each store may be limited so all demos requiring electricity MUST specifically book the Electric time block when at the time of scheduling. Allowance is given for 30min before and after for set up and cleanup.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH RD DEMOS DEMONSTRATION SERVICES?

Setting up a demo at Restaurant Depot is easy with the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES team. Their coordinators work with you from the very start to make the setup process as simple as possible. The training program for demo representatives can be customized to your specifications. Have product training videos? Want to host a training webinar? The experienced and knowledgeable demonstration team members are extensively familiarized with your product features and benefits so that they may effectively answer any questions and promote your product to the fullest.

Each RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES event consists of a 4-hour showcase & demonstration focusing solely on your products plus 1 hour of additional time for set up and clean up. You will also have the advantage of in-depth reporting tools easily accessed on the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES portal. Additionally, each RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES event features standard merchandising services. This means you can rest assured that your product is stocked and displayed for sale with the correct price tag before each event.

For self-service demonstrations, scheduling may be done for 4-hour time blocks and demonstrators are expected to stay for the full duration of their scheduled time block.

WHAT ARE THE FEES TO DEMO?

RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES provides demo services to our vendors at a rate of $235 per event. Please note, the product used in the demonstration is not included and will be charged via Restaurant Depot Adjustment Voucher. Self-service demonstrations may be conducted at a rate of $75 per 4-hour time block.

Fees for services utilized during food shows or special events will be adjusted according to the number of hours required for the event. Contact RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES, directly, for more information on special events.

HOW WILL MY COMPANY BE CHARGED?

Demos are billed on a monthly basis through automatic deduction. You may also choose to submit a bulk demo pledge to pay for a block of demos in advance. Unless alternate payment is arranged, a deduction will be taken for the full amount of the pledge. For full-service demos, the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES team will make every reasonable effort to contact you to schedule your pledged demos. However please be advised that following up to schedule demonstrations—whether self-conducted or through the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES team—is your responsibility and all demos must ultimately be scheduled through the RDDemos.com online portal.

At the end of the calendar year, funds pledged for full-service demos will be rolled over to the next calendar year for completion by January 31st. Funds pledged for self-service demos will not be rolled over to the following calendar year.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A DEMO?

All companies that are new to the program—whether working with RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES or conducting self-demos—must complete the website registration form and submit to [email protected].

To book a demonstration with the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES team, simply contact [email protected] to discuss your program parameters and desired schedule. They will coordinate the rest of the scheduling process.

Self-service demonstrators should visit the RD DEMOS & MARKETING SERVICES online demo portal to sign up for an account, submit appropriate documentation and then schedule their demos for dates up to one month in advance. The demo team will provide temporary login credentials.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE MIDWEST DEMO PROGRAM?

Self-demonstrators should review the Midwest Demo Best-Practices sheet for more direction on Restaurant Depot demo quality standards.

Also, effective July 1, 2020, all demonstrators must stop at reception when they arrive on-site for a demo to sign in and acknowledge the health & wellness policies.

Jetro/RD reserves the right to dismiss any unscheduled demos or any that are found to be non-compliant with Jetro/RD policies.
